DCCI submits 5 point charter of demands to Nagaland Government

Dimapur: Extortion, kidnapping and waylaid of transport should be dealt swiftly with full force with no impunity: DCCI

The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has submitted a five point charter of demands to the Government of Nagaland. In its representation addressed to the Chief Minister of the State, DCCI noted that that these demands were in respect to the ongoing indefinite shutter down.

DCCI has urged the Chief Minister for his “sincere and prompt intervention as the business community cannot do business under the present inhumane situation”.

The demands include:

  1. The State Government should immediately clarify whether taxation imposed by Naga Political Groups (NPGs) is legal or illegal.
  2. Should the business community pay GST or Taxation to NPGs. The State Government should reply in black and white.
  3. Summons of business community to NPGs Offices, Camps and Monitoring Cells should be immediately declared illegal and Law enforcing agencies should be empowered to act on those places.
  4. Raids on so called duplicate products, MRP tempering, expiry checking by NPGs should be immediately declared as illegal and zero tolerance be maintained.
  5. Extortion, kidnapping and waylaid of transport should be dealt swiftly with full force with no impunity.
