The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Chümoukedima, has informed that a Mock Disaster Management Exercise will be conducted on January 29 and 30 in Chümoukedima.
The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, DDMA Chümoukedima, Polan John stated that the exercise is intended to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure effective coordination among all stakeholder departments and agencies.
All concerned departments, including police, medical, fire and emergency services, village authorities, youth organisations, and line departments have been requested to extend full cooperation and take necessary action for the successful conduct of the mock exercise.
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima said the mock exercise would be organized in coordination with the 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Kohima. The exercise aims to assess preparedness, response mechanisms, and inter-departmental coordination during disaster situations.

As per the schedule, a Tabletop Exercise would be held on January 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the DC’s Conference Hall, Chümoukedima. This will be followed by a full-scale Mock Exercise on January 30 from 11 a.m. at Chümoukedima Village ground.
