The declaration programme for Bendangkumba Aier, the NDPP candidate for Mokokchung Municipal Council from Majakong Ward, was held at the Community Hall, Majakong Ward, Mokokchung, on June 20.
In his address, Bendangkumba Aier highlighted his understanding of the ward’s strengths and weaknesses, which he has observed during his time in Majakong. He expressed his motivation for contesting the election, emphasizing his aim to advance Majakong Ward. When emphasizing about his decision to run under the NDPP ticket, the candidate noted, “In the Nagaland legislature, there are 60 MLAs, and these 60 MLAs form an opposition-less government. We know that there is no Congress MLA.” He explained that meaningful public development can only be achieved through the ruling party, hence his choice to participate under the NDPP banner.
Aier emphasized the need for action rather than words, declaring, “Doing is better than talking.” He mentioned that he has visited every household in Majakong and discovered that 60% of them have unemployed youths who are dependent on their parents. Expressing deep concern over this issue, he made addressing youth unemployment a top priority in his agenda. The candidate urged the people to support him and give him the opportunity to serve them.
The programme included a welcoming address by Chuba, Advisor of NDPP Majakong Unit. Short speeches were delivered by notable individuals including Majakong Ward Vinden, Kughayi Assumi, Chairman of the Sumi Community, Dr. Aka Longchar, President of Sungratsu Sense Senden Mokokchung, N.
