On account of the 77th Independence Day, DEF Tuensang commended the valuable service of 53 personnel on 14 August 2023. DEF Tuensang informed in a press release that the Independence Day Celebration cum Barakhana program was held at Durbar Hall, SP Office Tuensang.

At the event, SP Tuensang Kanchan Kr Kandpal, IPS, presented an appreciation certificate to Traffic constable /1355 T. Throngrum Yimchunger of DEF Tuensang, the senior most amongst the in-service personnel of the unit, in recognition of his service for the unit and Nagaland Police in general.

52 jawans and officers were also awarded cash reward for their good performances, sincerity and hard work.

The award distribution ceremony was followed by the ‘Barakhana’ where regardless of ranks and files, the senior officers of this unit led by SP Tuensang pleasantly served the Barakhana to all the jawans and awardees, the unit also stated

Earlier in the day, DEF Tuensang organised an awareness program on “Har Ghar Tiranga” and the “Tiranga Rally” in Tuensang Town. The event was attended by Tuensang Police led by Superintendent of Police, Tuensang, Administrative Officers led by Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang and well-wishers from Tuensang Town.
