Deputy CM Patton highlights GST benefits during Wokha visit

Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton on Friday visited Wokha town as part of the ongoing GST Bachat Utsav campaign. He met with traders and shopkeepers in the town and engaged in conversations on how the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms are shaping business practices and bringing relief to households.

During the visit, Patton distributed informative materials to shopkeepers, designed to make the provisions of GST easier to understand. He explained that the reform, introduced under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has simplified tax procedures, reduced costs, and created an environment where both traders and consumers are benefitting.

He pointed out that GST has enabled small and medium businesses to operate with greater confidence, while also ensuring that ordinary families experience more savings in their daily expenses.

Interacting directly with the shopkeepers, Patton listened to their views and experiences. Many expressed their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership, noting that the reform has made business practices simpler and more predictable. They also conveyed their good wishes for the health and long life of Narendra Modi.

The Deputy CM also visited the Wokha Town Council office for discussions on civic and developmental issues, and the Lotha Hoho building where he reviewed the ongoing development of a museum to showcase the cultural heritage of the Lotha community.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha District held a press conference at the party office to highlight the recently introduced Next Generation GST Reforms.

BJP Wokha District President Rhanbemo Odyuo said the initiative was aimed at educating the people on the benefits of the reforms. “This is a gift by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the nation, and our people should also have the opportunity to take advantage of it,” he stated.

Odyuo added that the new policy has reduced prices of many products, benefitting both business communities and consumers. He said the party would continue to spread awareness so that citizens in the district can avail the benefits of various government schemes.
