Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali (IAS) of Zunheboto displayed compassion and support by extending relief and ex gratia assistance to families facing difficult circumstances.

Late Lt. Biswajit Das, a dedicated member of E-19 from Jharkhand Police, had been serving diligently during the Nagaland state assembly elections. Tragically, he lost his life while in the line of duty on February 28, 2023. To honor his sacrifice and support his bereaved family, the Election Commission of India (ECI) provided an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 15,00,000 (fifteen lakh rupees). The compassionate gesture aimed to alleviate the financial burden during this trying time. The ex-gratia amount was handed over to Late Lt. Biswajit Das’s father, Pratis Das.

In addition to the ex-gratia support, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Bhanudas Mali extended monetary relief to Kiholi Zhimo, a resident of Khuwaboto Colony, situated below the Assam Rifle camp in Zunheboto district. The family faced adversity in June when their house was severely impacted by a devastating landslide. Understanding the urgency of their situation, the Deputy Commissioner provided relief assistance to help them rebuild their lives.
