A book of poetry collection “Destined Apart” by Wedekhro Naro was released by PenThrill Publication in Kohima on February 3. This is Naro’s fourth book, following his first release “True love keeps moving” in 2018. The book was launched by Teisovi Gerard Meyase, Assistant Professor and Controller of Examinations at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.
Naro described the book as his scariest yet, as it is deeply personal and dedicated to a friend in Kuwait who inspired the poems. Reflecting on his unexpected journey of becoming an author, having dreamt of it in elementary school and seeing it come true 12 years later with his debut book in 2018, Naro expressed gratitude to the publisher, PenThrill Publication House, especially Vishü Rita Krocha, for recognizing his work. Naro’s three previous books were inspired by diverse encounters and random thoughts.
Stressing on Naro’s first book, ‘True Love Keeps Moving,’ in December 2018, Author and Publisher Vishü Rita Krocha recalled Colo Mero’s memorable words at the book release, likening both him and the author as “fearless, ruthless, and shameless” in telling their stories. Wedekhro’s first book delved into relationships and unspoken topics, while “The Unfinished Story” addressed addiction and alcohol, and “The Stubborn Heart” tackled relevant issues for young people, especially in the context of Nagaland. His previous books included a few poems, but “Destined Apart,” his fourth and exclusive poetry collection, holds a special place as Krocha is personally passionate about this genre.

Krocha acknowledged the humble beginnings and numerous challenges of Naro who has worked tirelessly and remained grounded, earning admiration for his remarkable achievements.
“In Nagaland, the writing and publishing scene is mainly dominated by women, and while male writers have made significant contributions, Wedekhro’s subjects are distinct in the context of our state. It is rare for writers to persist in their storytelling endeavors, making his journey even more noteworthy,” added the Publisher, who shared that the new book is Naro’s finest work yet.
Krocha further extended her hope and appeal to all present to support writers, storytellers, and be book ambassadors from their land, which is just beginning to witness the growth of literature.
