Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, the NDPP candidate for 10 Northern Angami-I Assembly Constituency, on Tuesday stressed on his plan to engage colony and community leaders in the planning process of development so that works can be done together and with proper understanding of the needs and requirements of the people.
Yhome was addressing a public rally on clean election organised at Peraciezie Junction( High School Junction), Kohima by Nationalist Democratic People’s Party.

He said that Kohima town is slowly becoming an urban village where people from across the state and India have come, each with a dream or with a burden.
“If we don’t understand and care for each other, then the beauty of Urban Kohima city has no future. If I win, I will come back and work together with the colony leaders. Whatever development the public needs, I will take it to the assembly and work for the public,” Yhome asserted.
He gave an assurance that Local Area Development Fund which amounts to Rs. 10 crore over a period of 5 years will be used in ensuring development activities as per the needs and requirements of the people.
The NDPP candidate said that NDPP is contesting in 40 seats alone and with BJP alliance contesting 60 seats while Congress is contesting in 23 seats, NPF in 22 seats. He said that even if they (Congress or NPF) win all their seats, they cannot form government.
He exuded confidence in NDPP-BJP coming to power saying, “Few days back, I have said on YouTube that we are expecting 40 seats but now we are hearing that we will surely win in 43 seats”.
Yhome said that sitting MLA of the constituency was in the opposition and no development could take place in the last assembly and that if he does not get elected, then the MLA will be in opposition for another 5 years.
He also thanked CM Neiphiu Rio for giving him the party ticket to contest.
