DH&FW bids farewell to two women directors

Kohima: Dr. Vibeituonuo Mepfuo will now serve as the Principal Director of the department

Outgoing Principal Director, Dr. Temjentsungla, and outgoing Joint Director, Dr. Obangjungla with colleagues on 1 February 2023.

The Department of Health & Family Welfare on Wednesday sent off its Principal Director, Dr. Temjentsungla, and Joint Director, Dr. Obangjungla in a programme at the DH&FW premises.

Y.Kikheto Sema (IAS), Commissioner & Secretary of the department congratulated both the outgoing officers and wished them happy retirement life. He reminded them that it was rather a day of celebration and not sadness as they celebrate the duties and services rendered throughout the 34 years in service.

The Commissioner and Secretary also said that outgoing Principal Director Dr. Temjentsungla was an outstanding officer who is sincere, straightforward, and “A Woman of Action” who has served in 13 different establishments and contributed a lot to the department. Further, he said that it had been a great pleasure working with her in the short period of her time as PD.

During the program, Sema also initiated the handover of the official order of incoming PD, Dr. Vibeituonuo Mepfuo, which was handed over by the outgoing PD.

Dr. Temjentsungla in her speech expressed gratitude to all her subordinate officers and staff for their support in her tenure as Principal Director. She also expressed that it had been a fulfilling duty to repair the connecting road which was overdue and had not been implemented for a long time.

Dr. Obangjungla, Joint Director in her speech conveyed thankfulness to all the guests and officers and for the articulated program to bid them farewell. She expressed that her service in the department had been a good journey, learning new things throughout, and shared her achievements/awards to encourage the remaining officers to be motivated to render service in the best possible way.
