173 Bn CRPF distributed water storage tanks and solar lamps to the needy at its Civic Action Programme held on Wednesday at the Unit’s Headquarters at Airfield, Dimapur.
The beneficiaries of 36 tanks and 58 solar lights were residents in the areas near B/173 Bn CRPF Camp, CIHSR Hospital, and F/173 Bn CRPF Camp at Powergrid Colony, Dimapur, the DIPR stated.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, IPS thanked the CRPF units of 173 Bn for the initiative. In his speech as the Chief Guest, Sophie said that villages and colonies should also reciprocate the help when the units need help.
He also said that people should feel free to ask for help from his own department, adding that he and his unit will try their best to help in all possible ways.

Commandant of 173 Bn CRPF, Ashok Kumar Yadav said that the Civic Action Programme is conducted by CRPF every year where needy people are provided with various essential items which are beneficial for them in their daily lives. He further explained that the programme bridges the gap between Security Forces and the local populace and they should come together as one in the future.
The Civic Action Programme will continue for three days in various parts of Dimapur and Nagaland.
