Dimapur 24/7, in collaboration with Friends on Wheels (Motorcycle Club), organised a mass social work and cleanliness drive at the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office premises on 25 October 2024.

A press release informed that a strong team of 24 members from both organizations, led by Annie Jain, Chairperson of Dimapur 24/7, actively participated in the drive, with additional support from officials and staff of the DC office. The event, which began at 5:00 am, went on for two and a half hours. The initiative was focused on restoring and maintaining the hygiene of the premises while promoting environmental awareness and encouraging community participation, the press release stated.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to team up with the active youth force to do something meaningful. Our collaboration with Friends on Wheels Motorcycle Club proves that,” said Annie Jain. She added, “Cleanliness and hygiene are ongoing challenges in our society, and the government’s initiative for mass social work across the state is much needed. This drive is not a one-time event but part of a larger campaign for hygiene and cleanliness. We encourage everyone to join us in future efforts.”

Speaking at the event, Abhijit Bharadwaj, President of Friends on Wheels (Motorcycle Club), emphasized the importance of individual responsibility toward cleanliness: “This is a social responsibility for everyone. The cleanliness drive should not stop at public places but start from our own homes. Regular cleaning of our localities and homes is essential to prevent diseases and ensure a healthy environment.”

Both organizations expressed their commitment to organizing similar activities in the future, inviting members of the community to participate in their ongoing efforts to promote cleanliness and public health.
