Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai celebrates Phom Moonyiü festival

On the occasion of the fifth day of the Phom Moonyiü festival, the Dimapur Yachem Bühü Pangthai organised a special Moonyiü programme on April 5, 2025, at its Morung located at the residence of former Minister Shri. S. Pangnyu Phom residence in Eralibill Village, Dimapur. The event was hosted by Gazetted Officers of Yachem residing in Dimapur, a press release stated.

Speaking on the occasion as special guest, S. Yongchang Phom, Director, Department of Agriculture, Nagaland, exhorted the gathering to uphold the spirit of togetherness, hospitality towards others and the will to serve for common cause for the betterment and progress of our society.

He also called upon the young people to take forward the good legacy of their elders and be more vigilant and confident to take any responsibility in bringing holistic changes in all aspects.

Invocation prayer was pronounced by Y. Konnyei, Home Evangelist, PBAD, welcome address was delivered by its President O. Yanger Phom and the significance of the festival was enlightened by C. Hamba Nemdakly. Dimapur Yachem Anüti Lunglak presented modern folk song and act play on Ajibangkhüm the origin of Moonyiü was demonstrated by Dimapur Yachem Students’ Union.

The programme was chaired by O. Hamshong and Enyuh and culminated with a prayer by M. Nyeiphen, Fellowship incharge. The formal programme was followed by indigenous games and Moonyiü Feast.
