Little Star Higher Secondary School, Dimapur won the Nagaland State Level Science Drama Competition 2023 (SLSDC) held at the Innovation Hub in the Nagaland Science Centre, Dimapur, on 27 October 2023. LSHSS will now represent the state at the North-East Zone Science Drama Competition which is scheduled to take place on 24 November 2023 at the Regional Science Centre in Guwahati.

According to DIPR, the competition was graced by Bendang Walling, a prominent theater practitioner, and filmmaker, who is an alumnus of the National School of Drama in New Delhi. He is also the Artistic Director of Hill Theatre in Nagaland and served as the Special Guest and Chief Judge of the event.

The theme for this year’s competition is “Science & Technology for the Benefit of Mankind.”

The Science Drama Competition is an annual event held nationwide and serves as a platform for using drama as a powerful medium to address socio-scientific issues of contemporary relevance in society. The competition begins at the state level, advances to the regional level, and culminates at the national level, known as the National Science Drama Festival (NSDF), which is organized and managed by the National Council of Science Museums.

The Nagaland SLSDC is sponsored and organized by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Nagaland.
