A farewell programme was organized by the Department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), Kohima on January 31 at the DIPR Conference Hall to honour two retiring staff members for their dedicated years of service.
Delivering the address on behalf of the department, Director, Dzüvinuo Theünuo spoke about the retirees, stating that she had personally learned from their wealth of work experiences. She noted that both had served under as many as nine different Directors during their tenure, which reflected their long association and deep institutional knowledge within the department.
The Director expressed her hopes and prayers that God would grant them good health and blessings in their future endeavours. She also encouraged all staff members to remain committed and to continue giving their best service, not only to the department but also to the government and the public they serve.

The programme began with Nongozu Rikha, Assistant Director, IPR, chairing the event. An invocation was offered by S Hongpi Konyak, Deputy Director, IPR, setting a solemn and reflective tone for the gathering. A short speech was delivered by Asangla Imsong, Joint Director, IPR, who acknowledged the valuable contributions made by the retiring personnel over the years.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of the retirees — Rokosie, Senior Photographer, and Naiwang Konyak, Chowkidar. Both were honoured for their long-standing commitment and sincere service to the department. In their farewell speeches, the retirees shared memories from their years of service, expressing gratitude to colleagues and officers for their support throughout their careers.
