Professor Bhagirathi Panda, Honorary Director of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), North Eastern Regional Centre, Shillong, visited MGM College, Dimapur, on 25th October 2024 where he delivered a thought-provoking lecture.

A press release from MGM College informed that in his speech, Professor Panda shared ICSSR’s impactful role in advancing academic research and outlined various programs and initiatives available to budding scholars, including Faculty Development Programs (FDP) and research opportunities aimed at enhancing the education landscape.

He also emphasized the value of interdisciplinary research, illustrating how fields such as literature and economics can mutually inform and enhance understanding across disciplines. His examples offered faculty members fresh insights into the value of collaborative research and the shared influence of diverse academic fields, the College stated.

The session was chaired by Washimongla, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, with an introductory message from Rev. Fr. Giju George, Administrator of MGM College. Dr. R.K. Behera, Principal delivered an inspiring keynote address, and Dr. Vili G. Kibami, IQAC Coordinator, extended the vote of thanks.
