Programme on distribution of free assistive devices was held at Town Hall, Tuensang on November 18, organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Tuensang and Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Co-operation of India (ALIMCO) with P Bashang Mongba Chang, Minister for Housing and Mechanical (PWD) as Special Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Chang expressed his sincere gratitude to be a part of the distribution program of Free Assistive Devices to the beneficiary. He said that Government firmly believed that every citizen is of age, physical abilities or circumstances deserves equal opportunities to live with independent and respect, Assistive Devices like wheelchair, crutches, walking aids or hearing aids may be simple, but to the beneficiary they represent mobility, empowerment and hope.
He also stated that the Government is committed to strengthening welfare programmes, improving accessibility and expanding support system for vulnerable group.

The Minister extended his appreciation to ALIMCO for their continued partnership in serving person with disability with their technical expertise and commitment ensuring that essential device reached even the remote corners of India.
The program was chaired by Thsapongchem Sangtam, Welfare Inspector, while the keynote address was presented by T Longlang Luckpan, DWO Tuensang. Short speeches were proposed by Sanjeev Kumar Hajoary, JM RMC and NY Choba, President of CKS. The programme was followed by distribution of Wheel Chair, Crutches and Gearing Aids to the person with disability and senior citizens under ADIP and RVY scheme.
