A District Level Awareness programme was successfully conducted on February 9 at VDB & VCC hall, Longleng, organized by Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy, an empanelled training partner under the Skill Development Mission Initiative – Nagaland Skills & Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), PMU, IDAN, Government of Nagaland, in collaboration with the District Administration and the Phom Students’ Conference.

The programme aimed at creating awareness on skill-based programmes, guided formal employment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Longleng District.

Emphasis was laid on the Government of Nagaland’s continued commitment to empowering youth through structured, demand-driven skill development initiatives aligned with actual industry and job requirements.

The seminar highlighted the importance of capturing real-time job demand, ensuring employment through skill-based programmes, and providing placement support with strong emphasis on dedication, accountability, and achieving meaningful placement outcomes.

Awareness was also created among parents and the wider community on the growing relevance of skill education as a viable and respectable career pathway.

In his introductory note EAC Longleng, Er Vinoh Swu stressed upon the importance of youth being certified by recognised and proper institutions, and encouraged them to explore available opportunities across multiple sectors rather than focusing solely on government employment. He highlighted that skill certification and continuous upskilling are key to long-term career growth, progress, and development.

ECTAAC CEO, Temjenkala Aier lauded the efforts of the Government in investing in the future of the youth through such dynamic skill development programmes. She encouraged young people to actively utilize the opportunities being made available, stating that in the present day and age, no youth above the age of 18 should remain unemployed. She further highlighted that there are numerous government-supported training programmes accessible to youth, enabling them to become employable and build meaningful, purposeful, and sustainable careers.

A major highlight of the seminar was the introduction of specialized training courses in Geriatric Care, Child Care, and Home Care Assistance (Non-Clinical) under the dynamic, government-sponsored Nagaland Skills & Entrepreneurship Development Mission. The programme offers one-month free residential training, fully supported by the Government, inclusive of hostel facilities and job placement assistance, aimed at preparing youth for immediate employability in the growing care services sector. The initiative is designed to address both employment generation and the increasing demand for trained caregivers, while providing dignified and meaningful career opportunities for the youth of the State.

To ensure inclusivity, the programme also features a Skill Loan facility, described as a golden opportunity for youths facing financial challenges. Under the “Get Trained, Get a Job, Pay Later” scheme, eligible candidates can avail Skill Loans through the empanelled bank of the Government of Nagaland, State Bank of India, across the State. This initiative enables aspirants to pursue skill training without upfront financial burden, repayable after securing employment. Interested candidates were informed that further details and guidance can be obtained from Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy (ECTAAC).

In his welcome address, Vice President PSC, L. Shahchong extended his gratitude to Eagle Crest Training Academy & Consultancy for facilitating various government-sponsored free training opportunities under the Nagaland Skills & Entrepreneurship Development Mission, particularly in Home Care Based Assistance, including Geriatric Care & Child Care.

The training program was chaired by Vice President LTSU, Yatihnala, followed by invocation by Editor PSC, A. Bingmei Phom. The technical and awareness sessions were conducted by the resource persons from ECTAAC – Allin Awomi, Operations Head & HR, and Chumbeni, Business Development Executive.

The programme concluded with an interactive session, reinforcing a shared vision of empowering the youth of Nagaland through skill development, formal employment and sustainable career pathways, with continued collaboration between the Government, training partners, and community stakeholders.
