District level sports organized in Tseminyu

A one day Open Penalty Shootout was held at Riga’s Astro Turf, New Terogvunyu, Tseminyu district on February 13, organized by the Mera Yuva Bharat Tseminyu under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MoYS).

The event was conducted in collaboration with Nagaland Association for Adventure Mountaineering & Education (NAAME) which is the implementing FNGO under Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) and Terogvunyu Youth Organization (TYO).

The event was flagged off by Yhuntilo Kent, Range Forest Officer (RFO), FMU Head of Tseminyu, in the presence of Divisional Management Unit (DMU) Kohima. Commencing with the event, Akho Phira, Team Leader, FNGO NAAME, highlighted the objective of the convergence program by emphasising on the concurrent project’s efforts towards forest and environment protection, rejuvenation and enhancement as well as the special investment on augmenting SHGs Income Generation Activities (IGAs) through financial assistance from the NFMP project.

The event further aimed at bringing youths for creative engagement, not only to nurture athletic talents but also awareness creation towards environmental protection.

In the penalty shootout, Sharp Shooters emerged as the Champions bagging a cash prize of 15,000/-, followed by Super V FC as the Runner’s Up bagging 10,000/-.
