District Level Training on Online Registration of Births & Deaths under Longleng district was held at the Conference Hall of the District Economics & Statistics Office, Longleng on Friday, DIPR has informed. The training was attended by registrars from different registration units under the district.
Deputy Commissioner & District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths, Dharam Raj, IAS in his speech, highlighted the role of the registrars of births & deaths. He discouraged giving multiple birth certificates as one can have a birth/death only once in his/her lifetime. Referring to the issue of multiple certificates, the DC said such cases reflect the negligence of one’s duty and should not happen in the future. He insists on having an accurate record of both birth and death occurrence.
The DC expressed expectation that following the training program provided by the Department, all registrars will be efficient, sincere and accountable in their duties and responsibilities.
In an introductory note, R Thsanso Yimchunger, Deputy Director & DESO, Longleng thanked the DC & District Chief Registrar of Births & Deaths and the Resource Person, Chonbeni Oren Patton, Economic & Statistics Officer (ESO) from DES Kohima for being part of the event.
The inaugural program was chaired by Amos Phom, IOS.
