Acting on information provided by the Assam Rifles that unauthorized/civil drone activities have been observed in and around Assam Rifles camp area in Mon district, which poses a serious threat to security, public order and safety, District Magistrate Mon, Wennyei Konyak has directed all citizens, residents, visitors, organizations and media persons to strictly refrain from flying, operating or using drones/UVAs in the areas in and around Assam Rifles camps and military establishments and other restricted, sensitive and notified areas within Mon district.

The District Magistrate further stated that any person found violating the order would be liable for legal action and such drones would be neutralised/ jammed/confiscated by security agencies as deemed necessary. The order comes into immediate effect and shall remain in force until further order.
