The District Skill Committee, Kiphire conducted a meeting today at the DPDB conference hall. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, T Wati Aier.
In the meeting, Aier emphasised the importance of the skilling needs in the district while encouraging collaboration and convergence among the stakeholders.
The Deputy Commissioner said the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under the Aspirational District programme determine the overall delta ranking of the district and hence urged the members to submit the data under each theme on time.
Sukanya, MGNF, gave a detailed presentation on the agendas of the District Skill Development Plan, the enactment of the Entrepreneurship Task Force and awareness regarding the courses to be started in both of the NIELIT centres.
Discussion on the key findings from the Skill-gap study conducted by EY-SSDM revealed that 90% of the respondents were unemployed and had a monthly family income of less than Rs 25,000 per month.
The committee passed the resolution of the Entrepreneurship Task Force that will include members of DSC, GIAN Foundation, Better Life Foundation, COFU IDAN (Credit Outreach and Facilitation Unit), referred SHGs/FPOs, other NGOs and societies, and entrepreneurs.
The vision of the Task Force is to develop networks, create model plans and provide handholding support to the budding entrepreneurs of the district.
Courses under NIELIT centres, sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, will run in two centres. The advanced courses like Certificate Course in Data Entry and Office Automation (CCDEOA) and Advanced Diploma in Computer Application Accounting & Publishing (ADCAAP) will run in Zisaji Presidency Govt College (ZPGC), for which the eligibility is 10+2.
In the town centre, basic courses like Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) (Eligibility: none) and Computer Application and Networking (CAN) (Eligibility: 10th pass) will be offered.
