DoTE conducts Faculty Development Programme

The Directorate of Technical Education, Kohima organized and hosted a 2-day Faculty Development Program on January 22 and 23 at the Directorate’s Conference Hall, Kohima. The program witnessed 93 participants where Resource Persons for the Program were Prof Dr Khwaja M Rafi, Director, Mewat Engineering College, HWB, Government of Haryana; Prof Dr Sukanta Kumar Naskar, Technical Education & Management National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Kolkata; Dr Sonam Palden, Principal, Advanced Technical Training Centre, Sikkim and  Zakie Rheicha, State Co-Ordinator for NeGD, MeiTY.

The Technical Sessions included interactive insights on ICT-Enabled Outcome-Based Pedagogy, NEP 2020 Curriculum & Employability, Quality Assurance, approaches on learning experiential, learner-centric outcome-based. SMART objectives in education and training students to solve unknown and unstructured problems, use of emerging technologies, particularly AI tools, Hands-On session on Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID.

The FDP also witnessed Sessions on Examination systems, Work culture & Ethics, Building trust among peers and higher-ups, time and conflict management, strategic management and plan, guidance to faculties from experiences.

During the valedictory session Er Vipulhou Lhoungu, Director, Technical Education in his speech thanked the resource persons and all the delegates for their participation and challenged the participants for culminating a fruitful outcome through implementation of the various pedagogy approach and upskilling on the emerging technologies in the Polytechnics.
