The Chumoukedima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of October, 2025 was held on October 10 at DC’s Conference Hall, Chumoukedima, chaired by Advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and DPDB Chairman, Zhaleo Rio.
Rio, in his address welcomed the members and stated that Nagaland has faced significant damage due to intense and prolonged monsoon damaging infrastructure and property, road blockages and accessibility, agriculture and livelihood but during all this, the District administration, stakeholders have given their full cooperation in managing the monsoon’s impact effectively. He thanked them and requested to continue to give their service for effective preparedness in the coming days.
The meeting began with a review of the previous DPDB meeting, followed by a list of agendas. The board after thorough deliberation approved several agendas for recommendation including- Nagaland State Pedal Association; Chumoukedima Two-wheelers Taxi Association; Introduction of Multi-disciplinary courses in GHSS, Singrijan; Introduction of Commerce stream at GHSS, Singrijan; Proposal for construction of Excise Department Office, Chumoukedima; and Change of Village nomenclature from Sirhi Angami Village to Medzhiphema ‘A’ Village.

While PowerPoint presentations was presented by District Agriculture Officer, Moainla Pongen, where she highlighted various schemes and activities under Chumoukedima District included- RKVY (Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana; Rain fed Area Development (RAD); SMAM (Sub- Mission on Agriculture Mechanization); (POMIC) Per Drop More Crop; Krishonnati Yojana (KY); (ATMA) Agriculture Extension; (NFSNM) National Food Security & Nutrition Mission; (NMEO- OS) National Mission on Edible Oil- Oil seed; (NMEO- OP) National Mission on Edible Oil- Oil Palm; (MOVCD- NER) Mission Organic Value Chain Development for NER; PM- KISAN.
Longleng:
MLA A Pongshi Phom and MLA Bangtick Phom with other officials during the DPDB meeting held at Longleng (DIPR)
The District Planning & Development Board, Longleng convened its monthly meeting at the DPDB hall, Longleng on October 9. The meeting was chaired by the MLA & Chairman DPDB Longleng, A Pongshi Phom.
The MLA, Pongshi emphasized the importance of the Government employees and appealed to be sincere and work diligently for the upliftment of Longleng district. He also urged the members to monitor and supervised their employees to be in the station, and be available in the office during working days for the welfare of the people.
DC, Longleng, W Manpai Phom welcomed the new members and reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting and highlighted the agendas of the day. While reviewing the agenda for grant-in-aid demanded by the Vision Vale School, Longleng, the board agreed to forward the proposal to the concerned department.
The board also forwarded the proposal for the creation of Police Outpost at Yongnyah EAC Hq under Longleng District. The DC further informed the board members regarding the visit of Union Minister of State for Power & Renewal Energy to Longleng district and apprised all the department officers to be ready with their departmental activates.
Executive Engineer for Water Resources Department (WRD), Longleng Division, Sutemo Kikon presented the departmental activities through PowerPoint presentation. He outlined the department’s initiatives under various villages of the district.
The Public Health Engineering Department, Longleng will present their activities during the next DPDB meeting. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the DC.
