Team Maharashtra delivered a commanding performance in Match No. 11 of the Dr. Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship (2025–26), overpowering Himachal Pradesh with a remarkable 14–0 victory.

The match showcased Maharashtra’s attacking dominance, reflected not only in the scoreline but also in the match statistics—76% ball possession, 30 shots on target, 15 corners, and

seamless coordination across all departments.

From the very first minute, Maharashtra set the tone for the match. Aarna (Jersey No. 11) opened the scoring in the 1st minute, immediately followed by Ipshita (Jersey No. 9) in the 2nd minute, giving their team a dream start. The pressure continued relentlessly, with goals pouring in at regular intervals.

Aarna shone with a four-goal haul as her team’s attack was further energized by the skipper Aysha (Jersey No. 7), who registered a brilliant five-goal performance in the 28′, 74′, 85′, 86′, and 90+1′ minutes, making her one of the standout performers of the match.

Midfielder Aria (Jersey No. 8) added her name to the scoresheet in the 64th minute, while Aanshi (Jersey No. 14) followed with a composed finish in the 71st minute.

With this win, Maharashtra progresses to the semi finals and will play against Punjab on November 29.

The final stages of the match featured two quick goals from Poonam (Jersey No. 12) in the 78th minute and Sharvari (Jersey No. 10) in the 80th minute, sealing the emphatic win.

Himachal Pradesh struggled to resist Maharashtra’s high-pressing, fast-paced strategy and were unable to register any significant threats, managing only one shot on target and three fouls throughout the game. Maharashtra, in contrast, displayed exceptional discipline, committing only one foul and receiving no cards.

Meanwhile, playing the second match of the day, Mizoram secured a 4–2 victory

over Madhya Pradesh. The match unfolded with intense pace, sharp transitions, and remarkable individual brilliance. Although both teams displayed exceptional

skill, teamwork, and fighting spirit throughout the encounter, neither Mizoram nor Madhya Pradesh managed to qualify for the knockout stage, underscoring the competitiveness of this year’s tournament.

The match began with both sides showing intent and an eagerness to score early. Mizoram controlled much of the possession in the opening minutes, and their efforts were rewarded in the 30th minute when Loisy (Jersey No. 18) delivered a clinical finish to put her team 1–0 ahead. Her composed strike not only gave Mizoram the advantage but also energized the squad as they carried momentum into halftime with confidence.

Madhya Pradesh, however, started the second half with renewed determination. Immediately after the restart, Khushi Parte (Jersey No. 16) capitalized on a defensive lapse and fired the ball into the net in the 46th minute, levelling the score at 1–1. The equalizer injected fresh life into the contest and signalled that Madhya Pradesh was far from done. But the joy was short-lived. Just three minutes later, in the 49th minute, Mawipuii (Jersey No. 11)

restored Mizoram’s lead with a swift and powerful strike, making it 2–1. Her goal showcased

tremendous awareness inside the box, reasserting Mizoram’s attacking dominance.

The back-and-forth battle continued when Komal Saket (Jersey No. 9) of Madhya Pradesh converted a well-worked move in the 59th minute, bringing the scoreline to 2–2. This second equalizer demonstrated Madhya Pradesh’s resilience and fighting spirit, as they refused to let the game slip away despite constant pressure from Mizoram.

However, Mizoram’s determination proved stronger as the game advanced into its final stages. Mawipuii (Jersey No. 11) once again emerged as the difference-maker, scoring her second goal of the match in the 74th minute, putting Mizoram ahead 3–2.

To seal the victory, Nunpuii (Jersey No. 7) added Mizoram’s fourth goal in the 81st minute, ensuring a 4–2 triumph and eliminating any chance of another comeback from Madhya Pradesh.

Though the victory brought joy to Mizoram’s camp and reflected their strong finishing form, it ultimately wasn’t enough to push them into the knockout stage. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh, despite the determination and quality of play throughout the group phase, also fell short of qualification.
