Drugs worth Rs 35,98,000 destroyed: Nagaland Police

Kohima: The drugs seized and destroyed included 374kg of ganja, 15kg of raw opium and 350gm of heroin

The seized drugs were destroyed at the premises of SP Office, Kohima.

Joining the rest of the north-eastern states in connection with the regional meeting on drugs trafficking and national security which is being chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Guwahati, Nagaland Police destroyed 389.350kg of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances (NDPS) worth around Rs 35,98,000 today at the premises of SP Office, Kohima.

The drugs were destroyed in the presence of the district administration, church representatives, colony representatives and different organisations.

The drugs destroyed today were all seized on 8 October from New Police Reserve Firing Range, Phesama and included 374kg of ganja, 15kg of raw opium and 350gm of heroin.

Addl SP Kohima Vitoshe K Sumi stated that this was also an awareness on the menace and negative impact of drug trafficking which affects national security. He called upon the people to give their best to reform society and make it better.
