Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman DPDB Peren, T.R. Zeliang sponsored and awarded the athletes from Peren district who won medals at the recently concluded 3rd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 at a felicitation programme held the Conference Hall, District Sports Council, Peren on 8th March 2024. As per a DIPR report, Zeliang appreciated and encouraged the sportspersons from the district.

Peren secured the fifth position among the 16 districts at the NOPG 2024 winning a total of 33 medals including 14 gold, 7 silver and 12 bronze medals.

Earlier on Friday, the monthly Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of March was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren on 8th March 2024 under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman DPDB Peren, T. R. Zeliang.

While reviewing the previous meeting minutes on shifting of Peren Government College, ADC Peren, Japheth Woch gave a brief status report on the developmental works. He also highlighted the challenges and issues faced by them for proper and smooth functioning of the college.

During the meeting, on account of the International Women’s Day, celebrated under the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”, DC Peren administered the celebration pledge, followed by highlights of the celebration programme delivered by Heiriateilei, District Mission Coordinator (DMC) District Hub for Empowerment of Women-DHEW.

Departmental activities were presented by Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Agriculture departments.

New board members, ADC Peren, Japheth Woch; EAC Nsong, Avonuo Kire; EAC Peren HQ, Er. Seyiekhrietuo Solo and JE Power, Peizieying Iheilung, were introduced during the meeting.
