Dy CM Zeliang urges Peren citizens to avail technical knowledge through ITI, Polytechnic

Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang on Monday called upon the citizens of Peren district to avail technical knowledge offered through different courses at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Peren and Government Polytechnic Peren (GPP).

Responding to a report given by the GPP principal at the Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting, Zeliang stated that the state government is moving forward step by step to improve sensitization and impart more technical education to the younger generations. In this regard, the Dy. CM entrusted Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peren to organise sensitization programme for the civil society organisations under the district including Tening and Nsong circle.

Zeliang also highlighted that the government has appointed and placed well qualified lecturers and trainers at all educational institutions in the state including GPP. Therefore, he urged the citizens to avail the opportunity provided by the government.

Zeliang also asked the Peren ITI and GPP to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations during the sensitization programmes organised in the district.

DC, Peren assured to organise a seminar to impart technical education to the community in the district.

Earlier, the DPDB meeting commenced with a review of the previous meeting minutes followed by deliberation on various developmental agendas. While deliberating on the agendas, the Board approved the proposal for creation of Government Primary School at Tening Namsan. The house also deliberated to organise the 11th Inter-Departmental tournament in the month of November and constituted the organising committee headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Peren as convener, SDO (Civil) headquarter as a member and District Sports Officer as the member secretary.

DC also informed the house that he has apprised the internet service providers and the concerned department to provide better internet facilities, and road connectivity in and around the offices for smooth functioning of government offices in the district headquarter. Regarding land allotment in the district headquarter, the DC said many head of offices have been allotted land to construct their department offices.

In this regard, the Dy CM Zeliang urged the district officers to keep in touch with their departmental contractor to construct their offices according to their convenience. He further stated that Peren new district headquarter is Nagaland’s first master plan, demarcated for model township especially for construction of offices and quarters. He informed that this policy will be strictly implemented in the district.

During the meeting, PowerPoint presentations were given by survey officer Department of Land Record, Phenrongwi Zeliang projecting the departmental activities in the district.
