EC announces dates for Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly elections

New Delhi: EC announces schedule for Bye Elections to 48 ACs and 2 PCs across 15 States

The election Commission of India has announced that the polls for the Jharkhand Assembly will be held in two phases on 13th November 2024 and 20th November 2024. Meanwhile the polling will be held for Maharashtra Assembly on 20th November 2024.

Jharkhand: There are a total of 82 Assembly Constituency seats of which 9 are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 28 for Scheduled tribe (ST).

The total number of electors in the state is 2,60,87,698 of which 11,84.150 are new voters.

Counting of votes will take place on 23rd November 2024.

Maharashtra: The total number of Assembly seats is 288 with 29 reserved for SCs and 25 for STs. There are 9,64,85,765 eligible voters in the State which includes 20,93206 first time voters.

The Counting Day for Maharashtra will also be held on 23rd November 2024.

Additionally, the Election Commission has announced the schedule for Bye Elections to 48 Assembly Constituencies and 2 Parliamentary Constituencies across 15 States.

These include 5 ACs in Assam, 4 ACs in Bihar, 1 AC in Chhatisgarh, 1 AC in Gujarat, 3 AC in Karnataka, 2 ACs and 1 PC in Kerala, 2 Acs in Madhya Pradesh, 1 Pc in Maharashtra, 1 AC in Meghalaya, 4 ACs in Punjab, 7 ACs in Rajasthan, 2 ACs in Sikkim, 9 ACs in Uttar Pradesh, 1 AC in Uttarakhand and 6 ACs in West Bengal.
