The Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce the schedule for the Lok Sabha polls and State Legislative Assembly elections on Saturday, 16th march 2024. EC informed today that that the media conference for the announcement will be held at 3:00 pm at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh are gearing up from State Assembly elections to be held this year.

Meanwhile, Gyanesh Kumar and Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu today assumed charge as Election Commissioners in ECI.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar welcomed the newly appointed Election Commissioner’s to the action packed and intense twelve weeks ahead. He emphasized the significance of their joining at this historic point, when team ECI is all set to conduct the General Elections 2024 in the world’s largest democracy.
Gyanesh Kumar and Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu’s appointments were announced on Thursday. They are both officers from the 1988 batch of the Indian Administrative Service who belonged to the Kerala and Uttarakhand cadre respectively.
