‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Nam’ tree plantation campaign held in Wokha

Wokha: 300 saplings were planted at New DC Office site

A tree plantation campaign, in support of Prime Minister’s ‘Plant for Mother’ or ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Nam’ initiative, was held at the New DC Office site in Wokha today.

The event saw participation from Vineet Kumar Wokha, Deputy Commissioner (IAS); Suman W.M. Sivachar, IFS, District Forest Officer of Wokha Forest Division; Nuhuta Tunyi, SDO Civil Wokha; and Sangmou Khiamniungan, NCS, EAC Wokha. Various departments, including the Wokha Forest Division, DIPR, DWO, AE, and CAWD participated in the campaign.

During today’s event, 300 saplings were planted on the site. The ‘Ek Ped Ma Ke Nam’ campaign targets the planting of 80 crore trees across India by September 2024, with a broader goal of 140 crore trees by March 2025.
