Nagaland’s Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Kudecho Khamo on Saturday told the PMEGP Scheme aspirants to take up business that are viable and marketable and sincerely make re-payment.
He stated this while addressing the orientation and briefing programme on aspiring applicants under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme at Town Hall, Chetheba Town, organised by District Industries Centre (DIC), Chozuba & NKVIB, Chozuba.
Stating that entrepreneurship and business need to be a way out instead of relying on government job but the youth need a rethinking to be job creators and employers.
He viewed that the PMEGP Scheme beneficiary can be job creators and told them to make the best used of funds to prosper.
Khamo asserted that no industry/ factory or to become rich is possible without bank and told the gathering to honestly do the repayment of loans and exhorts them set a good trend of repaying loan to gain the confidence of the financial institutions.
He informed that the government of Nagaland under leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio initiative of Chief Minister Micro-Finance Scheme (CMMFI) to encourage entrepreneurship in the state besides the existing PMEGP and called upon the youth to come forward to avail the same.
Khamo told the people not to be money centric or divert the funds but to know the project they’re taking up to let their business be successful. While he also lamented the wrong mentality of the Nagas of not taking their trade professionally and in this regard stressed on the need change with all seriousness.
He also expounded the huge scope that is laying in meat production, fruit production and food processing to start locally and not rely on the imports alone or on the services of outsiders that are dominating the entire business ecosystem.
The Advisor expressed concern over the lack of commitment among the Nagas in work space and life principles that is lagging and consequently not knowing the purpose driven life created by God.
He said business is not money alone, while he shared his experience of being an entrepreneur himself that it is important to build trust first and added that irrespective of big or small business one need to pursue with all seriousness.
Khamo stressed on the need to inculcate critical thinking to strategies and pointed out that Phek district need to start a new and think about livelihood to progress with commitment and hard work.
A speech was also delivered by Cholzo Sophie, General Manager, DIC – Chozuba and he said the fund from PMEGP are not free money but credit link that needs to be recovered urged the aspirants to make re-payment a priority.
He also encouraged the aspirants to undergo for Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (ESDP) and take up in sectors which areas are least ventured to let their business thrive.
Meanwhile, Lukheto Shohe, Executive Officer, NKVIB, Chozuba speaking about PMEGP Scheme said the objective of the training is to generate employment and he called upon the applicants not to misused but to make the best use of it to improve livelihood.
A speech was delivered by Shemrihor, Branch Manager, SBI- Chozuba in his presentation for banking modalities and process of applications in Bank, he told the applicants availing the PMEGP to generate employment for themselves and others for sustainability.
Further he also warned that the bank will not allow diversion of fund and will be strictly maintained to ensure work.
