Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton on Thursday inaugurated the newly established Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Englan, Wokha. The inaugural programme, held at the PHC premises, featured Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS, as the guest of honour.
In his address, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed the urgent need to resolve land acquisition and border demarcation issues that often impede developmental activities. He urged the district administration and police to actively cooperate in demarcating the land already purchased for expansion around the PHC and the Extra Assistant Commissioner’s office area.
Expressing concern over the recurring damage to public property, Patton appealed to citizens to uphold civic responsibility and safeguard government infrastructure. He reminded the gathering that public facilities are established for the welfare of the people and must be treated with care and respect. He further called upon the community to extend cooperation to the health centre staff to ensure quality service delivery, particularly for local residents and farmers.
Highlighting the role of community participation, the Chief Minister entrusted the elders and Goanburas of Englan and neighbouring villages with the responsibility of protecting the infrastructure and ensuring its proper upkeep.
