The Department of English, MGM College, conducted an outreach program to promote English language and literature titled “The World Inside a Book” on April 7, 2025.
A press release from the College state that the objective of the initiative was to enrich the educational experience beyond the confines of the classroom through creativity, community engagement, and literary exploration in a unique and impactful way.
The college informed that 33 students from Class 7 of Government Middle School, Midland participated in the program which included interactive sessions to spark curiosity, stimulate imagination, and highlight the role of storytelling in shaping individual and collective identities. Through engaging activities and live interactions, participants delved into the world of books, discovering how literature can inspire, inform, and empower, it added. The event was curated to ensure the participation of specially-abled students.
Further, the extension activity allowed the college students to enhance their public speaking, leadership, and organizational skills while simultaneously nurturing younger learners’ creative potential.
Speaking about the initiative, the faculty coordinator remarked, “This extension activity reaffirms our department’s belief in the power of literature as a tool for empowerment. By connecting with young minds and encouraging their creative expression, we hope to build a culture of learning that transcends barriers.”
