The Eastern Naga People’s Organization (ENPO) and the Eastern Naga National Worker’s Forum held a Consultative and Coordination meeting on 13th November 2024 at CKS Hall, Tuensang. As approved by the Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting held on 12th November 2024, today’s meeting resolved and re-affirmed the 18th December 2007 Tuensang Summit resolution in declaring the entire Eastern Jurisdiction as peace zone, the Media Cell, ENPO informed in a press release.
The 18th December 2007 Tuensang Summit resolution states: “there should be no bloodshed, threat, intimation or any form of violence within Eastern Jurisdiction. The ENPO shall not extend any public cooperation to any group(s) for non-compliance of the above resolution.
This re-affirmation also resolves to cover all its citizen beyond its jurisdiction and further appeals to all the Naga Political Group(s) to strictly adhere and comply to this historic resolution and re-affirmation.”
The Media Cell informed that the ENPO CEC meeting held on 12th November 2024 resolved on the following:
“(i) TO HONOUR CEASE FIRE GROUND RULES: The House resolved to appeal to all NPGs to uphold Cease fire ground rules in spirit within Eastern Jurisdiction and also to sincerely pursue its decades old Naga struggle/cause through peace talks and negotiation.
(ii) ENPO WILLING TO ACT AS MEDIATOR BETWEEN NPG(S) AND GoI: The house also resolved that its good office may act as a mediator in an event if and when any NPG(s) appeals/request the ENPO for Peace Negotiation with the Government of India. The ENPO shall continue to strive in mainstreaming all NPGs to a negotiating table towards early Naga Political solution.
(iii) CALL FOR UNITY: The House, while reiterating its early stance/call “unity first” resolved to appealed to all NPGs to “Unite under one unified umbrella” for an amicable Naga Solution that is Honourable, inclusive and acceptable. The House also discourages mushrooming of numerous breakaway factions within Naga Political Groups.
(iv) NO CIVILIAN CASE IN NPG(S) COURT: Resolved to discourage NPG Court(s) at the regional/tribal level entertaining civilian case in its court(s). This resolution was so adopted in order to avoid confrontation/complication/misunderstanding between any two NPGs court in a situation when the same case is being filed in two separate courts.
On the contrary, all concerned tribals are assigned to disseminate this resolution ensuring that no civilian should file any case in the NPGs court within its respective dominion. Defaulters should be penalised as per the concerned tribal law of the land.
(v) DISCIPLINING OF NPG(S) CADRES: On account of the growing anti-social element(s)/practices within the NPGs which defames the Office of the aged old Naga Political Group(s), the House resolved to appealed to all the NPGs to take serious note on drugs peddlers, ushers within/amongst its respective fold(s). In this regard, the august house resolved to appeal to all NGPs to initiate in cleansing such elements within a time frame so as to strictly maintain the sanctity of its good office in the society. “The ENPO also appealed to all NPG(s) to terminate/relinquish such people from an active service and should never recruit such people into its fold(s) in future”.
In this regard, the ENPO has directed all concerned tribal bodies “to initiate a strong measure within its own tribe so as to felicitate the NPGs in successfully implementation of this resolution within its own fold.”
