The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) have announced that it’s decision to abstain from the Lok Sabha elections in protest against the inability to fulfil the Frontier Nagaland Territory demand continues to stand unchanged despite today’s marathon meeting at CKS Hall Tuensang HQ, with the Eastern Nagaland Legislature’s Union and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, ENPO President R. Tsapikiu Sangtam, said the February 23 Chenmoho resolution to boycott both state and Central election still stand, “to immediately withdraw the resolution we cannot say since it is a public resolution,” he added.

It is learnt that during the discussion ENLU have appealed ENPO to review its decision with regard to boycotting of the election however, no decision was taken.
According to Sangtam, today’s meeting was a coordination meeting since there was communication and coordination gap between ENPO, ENLU and the general public. “ENLU has always supported us but there was communication and coordination gap which is no resolved. We will now pursue together and sail in the same boat,” said Sangtam.
Further, he informed that the public emergency in the Eastern region will continue.
Meanwhile, sources informed that ENLU tabled the draft proposal which was handed to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier this year was also discussed, however no further information on this discussion was received.
