The Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) has cautioned against carrying out any activity by individual and group for Eastern Nagas from Myanmar currently taking shelter in Nagaland due to the ongoing political crisis in the neighbour country.

“The Eastern Naga Students Association (ENSA) wishes to address the important matters pertaining to shelter, financial assistance and fundraising done by some individuals and groups. We have learnt that many people are taking advantage of the situation specially the Junta’s recently imposed conscription law and seeking financial aid or donations addressing as Eastern Naga concern, which are not always true and significant but for their own interest and profit”, the Myanmar-based ENSA stated in a press release issued on 21st June 2024.

It has therefore urged that any such activity taking place without the knowledge and consent of the ENSA be stopped immediately. “We request the Naga loving individuals, groups and organizations to exercise caution and vigilance in these matters to avoid any unwanted circumstances and ensure security, peace and unity among the Nagas”, the student body said.

Further, it has clarified that the ENSA and its federating units “will not bear any responsibilities for uninformed issues or incidents.”

Meanwhile, the ENSA has also expressed its appreciation to individuals and groups “who still holds the spirit of oneness and helping eastern Naga people understanding our living condition and problems.”
