The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has submitted a representation to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education against transfer and posting of teachers from Eastern District to Non-Eastern district without proper scrutiny, stating that the matter of ‘premature, illegal and irrational massive postings and transfers be monitored in its strictest sense.’

The ENSF pointed out that the quality of education in Eastern Nagaland areas continues to decline due to insufficient teachers and that the students are being left behind, not receiving the education they deserve.
The Federation stated it was concerned by ‘these sudden and unfortunate transfers’ that prevent the faculty from ‘developing a steady relationship with the students’, stressing that the harmful practice must be halted.

The students’ body appealed the government to implement the order of education department, Government of Nagaland dated 9 January 2009 that states “No post shall be transferred out of the District along with the incumbent”. It further urged ‘that the tendency of implementing postings and transfers of teachers at inter-district level at whims and fancies be curbed.’
