The Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme on Banana Fibre Extraction & Handicrafts, a 6-week livelihood training initiative, commenced in Phek today. The training is being organized by the Phek Police, Nagaland Tool Room & Training Centre (NTTC), and Phek Town Youth Society, aiming to empower youth seeking employment opportunities.
Dr. Pritpal Kaur IPS, the Superintendent of Police, Phek, inaugurated the training and urged all the participants to focus on hard work and livelihood instead of resorting to drugs or intoxicants. She emphasized that entrepreneurship goals can help the youth who are in search of employment, and encouraged them to form teams with their friends. This effort can make society more peaceful and progressive, she said.

Nisevor Niphi, an instructor from NTTC, highlighted the importance of the program, emphasizing that these livelihood activities can improve their quality of life by providing better earning opportunities. He also explained the objectives of the Nagaland Tool Room and Training (NTTC), and conducted demonstrations on banana fiber extraction and handicrafts making.
Participants from every ward in Phek Town, including women and youth, are participating in the training. Seyiengoi Soho, President of Phek Town Youth Society, chaired the program, and the invocation prayer was pronounced by Pastor Police Baptist Church Phek, Veruyoyi Khesoh.
