Pursuant to notification of Commissioner, Nagaland dated Kohima the 1st October 2024, the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has informed all concerned that enumeration exercise shall be conducted for the people and their direct descendants from Garo, Kuki, Kachari & Mikir (karbi) and Nepali/Gorkhas settled in Mokokchung District as mentioned below for issuance of IIC, Permanent Residence Certificate(PRC):

The Garo, Kuki, Kachar, Mikir (karbi) settled in the State of Nagaland prior to 1st of December, 1963 and Nepali/Gorkhas settled in the state of Nagaland prior to 31st December, 1940.

The enumeration shall be conducted by the office of the DC, Mokokchung at the village/town Levels in the prescribed pro forma enclosed and the enumeration sheet must be countersigned by the Village Council Chairman/Municipal Council Chairman (As applicable), concerned village GB, Area Administrative Officer, Chairman/President/Representative of the Garo, Kachari, Kuki, Mikir and Nepali/Gorkhas (As applicable) and the Deputy Commissioner of the districts.

All copies of final enumeration sheets shall be submitted to the Home Department, Nagaland through the Commissioner, Nagaland, which shall be further placed before the Cabinet for decision.

Issue of Notification -1st Oct.2024, Training of charge officers, Supervisors and Enumerations -18th Oct’ 2024 to 31st Oct’2024, Enumeration Exercise- 1st Nov’ 2024 to 31st Jan’2025, publication of draft list -15th Feb’2025, Inviting period for claims and Objections -17th Feb’ 2025 to 17th March’ 2025, disposal of claims and Objection-18th March’ 2025 to 21st April’2025 and final publication of the list enumeration- 6th May’ 2025.
