BJP’s National Vice-President and party’s Meghalaya in-charge M Chuba Ao on Friday did not rule out the probability of BJP working with the National People’s Party (NPP) after the upcoming Assembly polls in the State.

Stating that everything is possible in politics, Ao said that to win the elections, parties fight and charge each other.

“But once we win everything is forgotten,” BJP national vice president said while speaking to reporters.

When asked if they are going to work with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) if the BJP-NPP combination fails to win maximum seats after the polls, he said that it is too early to discuss this and that when such a time comes, they will discuss about it.

He further said that the part will decide the best formula to rule the State after the result is declared.

Ao also told reporters that BJP believes in “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” but that in small states, the regional parties will need the saffron party since running a state is very difficult since everything depends on the Centre.

According to him, they will need the BJP’s help when they are in power and without the party they cannot go to Delhi.

“It is for this reason we are saying that without the BJP they cannot form the government,” the BJP national vice president said.

Talking to reporters after the State Election Committee meeting, Mawrie said that they have already prepared the list and it will be immediately sent to Delhi.

According to him, the Central Parliamentary Committee will meet on 31 January to take a final call of the party candidates for upcoming Assembly polls.

Mawrie said that they will urge the party Central leadership to release the names of the party candidates at the earliest.

The BJP state president also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be among the 20 star campaigners of the party for the upcoming Assembly polls in the State.
