Exams under educational institutions exempted: JCC on IAS induction issues guidelines for pen down strike

In view of the three days pen down strike, the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) on IAS Induction ( CANSSEA , FONSESA , NIDA , NSSA & NF&ASA) has issued guidelines in a circular for compliance by Associations/Departments and employees.

Following the non-fulfilment of demands for withdrawal of non NPSC candidate from the select list of non SCS officers for induction into the IAS, the JCC announced the three days pen down strike which will be held across all government departments in Nagaland starting from October 14.

Emergency and essential services has been exempted from the purview of the strike. The circular highlighted that the emergency and essential services include: People working for the maintenance and supply of Electricity, Water, Road Repairs, Sanitation, Medical Doctors and Nurses providing Healthcare, Law Enforcing Agencies etc;

The circular also requested all Associations to issue clear and necessary instructions so that the public is not made to bear the brunt of the strike. All government employees has been requested to observe strict attendance at their respective workplaces. Further, the Associations has been requested to ensure that the Pen Down strike is observed peacefully.

“Any other services which respective Associations/Departments may feel that it should be exempted from the purview of this Strike may be worked out accordingly,” stated the circular.

Having observed certain non governmental agencies issuing directives against the strike, the JCC clarified that the pen-down strike will be complied by all service associations affiliated with CANSSEA. In this connection, the Joint Coordination Committee acknowledged the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA), an affiliated body of CANSSEA, for their prompt action in complying with the directives of the Joint Coordination Committee.

The Committee also clarified that examinations under schools, colleges and educational institutes wil be exempted from the purview of the pen down strike.
