North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited notified that the water level of Doyang Reservoir was at EL. 319.20 m at 6:00 AM on Tuesday and that it was likely to be filled up to the Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of El. 324.00 m (Presently maintained), due to the incessant rainfall in the region.
With the present trend of inflow of river water into Doyang Reservoir, the radial gates of the Doyang Dam shall be opened for releasing of excess water in control manner from El. 321.00 m before the reservoir water level reach the FRL of El. 324.00 m, NEEPCO stated.

It also warned that during the operation, the excess water will spill over and will flow through the Doyang River downstream of Doyang Power House.
NEEPCO has therefore requested all concerned to be careful and to stay away from the river downstream of the Power house. “…avoid bathing, swimming, fishing etc., during the period of operating of the radial gates,” the Dam & Spillway Division cautioned.
