Launching the eye-surgical-camp, MLA and advisor for Social Welfare Wangpang Konyak stressed on the purpose of the welfare of the people. Stating that one department alone cannot cover all aspects of welfare, he called for joint efforts from civil society organisations and government departments towards enhancing the welfare and benefit of those who are in need. Citing the Anganwadi, MLA Konyak highlighted on the importance of Aadhar updation of beneficiaries for proper record and proof of eligibility, so that their needs would be met in the village level. Pointing out that there are cases where one pensioner is benefiting or enjoying dual pensions due to lack of proper records, the legislator encouraged officials and public to take the initiatives to screen out such entries.
