The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO), today, stated that it will continue non-cooperation against the NSCN (K) Khango due to the failure of the the group to fulfill Point No.3 of the August 20 agreement.

Point no. 3 of the agreement required the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango to reveal the identity of the person alias “Max Naga” and initiating disciplinary action against him on or before 15 days of the agreement.

“The AYO regrets to inform the public that the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango has failed on its part to honour the gentlemen’s agreement between the two parties. Accordingly, the AYO in its meeting with the senior leaders and the four ranges (SAYO, NAYO, WAYO and CYO), have unanimously resolved to uphold the resolution of the 20th August Agreement, and hence the non-cooperation with the NSCN (K) Khango shall continue till Point No. 3 of the agreement is fulfilled,” mentioned a press release issued on October 21.

As per the letter received from the Supervisor CFSB/NSCN (K) Khango, addressed to the Chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group/Ceasefire Supervisory Board (CFMG/CFSB), for resolving the imbroglio between the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and the NSCN (K) Khango, through their Request Letter vide Ref. No. NCSN-IV/CFSB/INFO-07/2024-25 dated 4th August 2024, the office of the AYO responded to the appeal of the Khango group and met their delegation led by Kilo Kilonser, Visheto Yeptho and Supervisor of CFSB, A. Imyapangba Ao on August 20 at Kohima, Nagaland. The said meeting was facilitated by the office of the CFMG/CFSB.

Further, the AYO mentioned that it took due consideration of the letter of assurance (dated 2nd August 2024) by the Special Secretary to Hukato Vusshe, General Secretary, NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango, which stated, “The dignitaries enjoy the complete trust and the authority in representing the NSCN, to reciprocate to any positive approach in resolving the issue. It is to be noted that they will express the collective message of the NSCN, and which should not be inferred as their own personal opinion or perspective.”

Therefore, on August 20, after a marathon meeting, the AYO and the representatives of the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango resolved to append a four-point agreement. However, the Organisation has claimed that the NSCN (K) Khango, till date, have failed to address Point No. 3 of the agreement which stated, “The NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango shall make it known to the public the Identity of the person alias “Max Naga” and shall initiate appropriate disciplinary action against him on or before 15 days. Accordingly, the AYO shall withdraw its non-cooperation and recalling back of Angami workers from the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango.”
