A new book of poems authored by Azahto Kiba, Reverend and Senior Pastor, New Life Church Kohima and published by PenThrill Publication was released on January 13.
The book was released by Special Guest Dr. Easterine Kire.
“Although many of the poems can fall under the category of love poetry, there are poems that express the nature of divine love in a very intimate manner. The two loves, human love and divine love overlap in this collection,” said noted Naga writer Dr. Easterine Kire on Kiba’s poems.
According to Dr. Kire, Kiba’s poetry lifts itself up to celebrate another kind of love, that of the supplicant for his Lord and saviour while also describing the nature of “unconditional, all conquering, all forgiving love”.
She expressed the hope that readers will patiently search for and find the treasures that Kiba’s poems offer.
The author Azahto Kiba, in a brief introduction to his book, stated that the poems were written out of his life’s experiences, starting from his teen year’s till date. “They are a reflection of my life journey and my lenses for viewing life and the world around me. The poems are a collection written during the different seasons of life that I went through. Some of the poems were written before I started my spiritual journey and walk with Christ, and the others are written after I came into a living relationship with Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour, during my battle with Brain Tumor sickness,” stated Kiba.
It was during his time of sickness, Kiba shared, that he experienced God’s miraculous healing and Grace in the year 2000. “The spiritual experiences I encountered, had a tremendous impact in my life and changed the way I saw things, in my personal life and in situations around me. My outlook towards life thus changed and my style of writing too,” said Kiba.

Krocha expressed confidence that the poems will enrich and empower every reader and also serve as a reminder of why life is worth living.
