Fazl Ali College Mokokchung welcomes fresh faces with enthusiasm at annual Fresher’s Day

Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung embraced the spirit of new beginnings as it hosted its highly anticipated annual Fresher’s Day event at the college auditorium. The occasion served as a warm reception for the incoming batch of 2023, who arrived brimming with excitement and energy. Senior students extended a hearty welcome to the freshers, setting the stage for a day filled with formal and informal sessions.

Under the guidance of the students themselves, the event unfolded in two distinctive segments, each reflecting the vibrant essence of the institution. The formal session commenced with Principal I. Wati Imchen extending a heartfelt welcome to the new students, assuring them of a memorable journey ahead. He emphasized the college’s commitment to their holistic development, aligning with the principles of the New Education Policy, 2020. The institution’s focus on imparting skills conducive to future employment was highlighted as a key priority.

A highlight of the formal proceedings was a speech by Mejenna T. Longkumer, representing the freshers of the B.Sc. 1st Semester. The formal segment concluded on a poignant note with a special prayer for the freshers, delivered by Lima Lemtur, Pastor of Union Church affiliated with FAC.

The informal session, brimming with excitement and anticipation, centred around the crowning of the new Mr and Ms Fresher 2023. Participants showcased their confidence and intelligence through rounds that encompassed ethnic, casual, and formal wear, culminating in a question-and-answer round. The competition was fierce, reflecting the diverse talents of the students. Ultimately, Putusosang from the Political Science Department and Angela Zhimo from the English Department emerged victorious, clinching the coveted titles of Mr and Ms Fresher 2023.

In addition to the main titles, the event celebrated the spirit of congeniality and style, recognizing Mr and Ms Congeniality, Mr and Ms Runway, and the Best Ethnic Wear. Asensor Jamir, Secretary of Social Services FACSU, expressed gratitude on behalf of the institution, acknowledging the collective effort that made the event a resounding success. The ceremony reached its pinnacle as the winners of the previous year crowned the new Mr and Ms Fresher, symbolizing the continuity of tradition and excellence.
