The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Fazl Ali College Mokokchung held its annual special camping programme from February 26 to 28 at Satsu village under Ongpangkong Range in Mokokchung district.
A total of 26 NSS volunteers took part in the camp along with two programme officers- Dr. L Imlinichet Imchen and Nukshimoa.
One of the key highlights of the programme was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Satsu Village Council and the NSS Unit of Fazl Ali College, through which the village was formally adopted by the NSS Unit for a period of five years.

During the three-day camp, the NSS volunteers carried out a range of community-oriented activities in the village. These included the installation of four roadside signboards, whitewashing of the village community hall and school, and a cleanliness drive. In addition, the volunteers held separate interactive sessions with village elders and school children.

The special camping programme is an integral part of NSS activities, providing student volunteers with practical exposure to community development while encouraging social responsibility and leadership.
With the adoption of Satsu village and signing of the MoU, the NSS Unit of Fazl Ali College, in a press release, expressed hope to strengthen its bond with its adopted village and by conducting more of such special camps in the future it aims to significantly partake and contribute in the process of nation building.
