Fazl Ali College (FAC), Mokokchung, Nagaland, will host a two-day National Conference titled “Reimagining Development and Governance in North-East India: Pathways for Inclusive and Sustainable Futures (ReD&GoNE 2026)” on April 15 and 16 April at the College campus. The conference is jointly organized by the Departments of Economics, Sociology, and Political Science, Fazl Ali College, and sponsored by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), FAC.
ReD&GoNE 2026 seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for scholars, researchers, academicians, policymakers, and civil society practitioners to engage in critical dialogue on the evolving trajectories of development and governance in North-East India. While grounded in the regional context, the conference will also engage with broader national and global perspectives.
The objectives of the conference include examining changing development paradigms in North-
East India, analyzing participatory governance and decentralization, exploring sustainable strategies aligned with local realities and global goals, and fostering dialogue between academia, policymakers, and civil society.
Scholars have been invited to submit abstracts of papers on or before February 28. Notification of acceptance would be communicated by March 5 and full-length papers must be submitted by March 20. The best three presenters would receive the “ReD&GoNE 2026 Top Paper Presenter” Awards, and selected papers would be considered for publication in a Special Edition of the peer-reviewed FAC Journal (2026).
Basic hospitality arrangements would be made for outstation participants, with a 50% concession on accommodation and meals for paper presenters from outside Nagaland.

The conference is being held under the patronage of Dr I Wati Imchen, Principal, Fazl Ali College, with Bendangsenla, Coordinator, IQAC, serving as Co-Patron. The Programme Convenor is Dr Adangla Changkija, Associate Professor & HoD, Sociology, and the Programme Co-Convenor is Dr E Benrithung Patton, Associate Professor, Political Science. The Programme Secretary is Dr. Limasenla Jamir, Assistant Professor, Sociology.
