The Political Science Association (PSA) of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, recently organized a Tarun Sabha at the college auditorium. The Information and Publicity Cell informed that the event marked the first youth parliament under the aegis of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, and was also organized by the Political Science Association, FAC.
Dr E Benrithung Patton, Head of Department, Political Science, FAC, stated in his welcome address that the aim of the first youth parliament is to promote civic engagement and empower youths by providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary for a deep understanding of parliamentary affairs.
Tsukjemwati, General Secretary of the BJP Mokokchung unit, also delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of both theoretical and practical experience in parliamentary affairs.
The event witnessed the participation of 50 Political Science Honours students who played the roles of ruling Members of Parliament, MPs from the Opposition, foreign delegations, and marshals.
Additionally, students and faculty from Jubilee Memorial College, Jubilee Memorial School, Model Higher Secondary School, and Shisajen Riju were also present at the event.
