A felicitation programme was held today, September 23, at Hopongkyü Memorial Hall, Kiphire, to mark the merger of the RPI (A) Kiphire District with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The event, which began at 3:00 PM, saw the participation of key political leaders and party members.
During the programme, T. Yangseo Sangtam, former Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), formally joined the BJP. In his speech, Yangseo expressed his gratitude for becoming part of the largest political party in the country. He thanked all the party members for their cooperation and support during his political journey. He also mentioned that due to unavoidable circumstances and public pressure, he had left the BJP while serving as an Executive Member. However, he assured the gathering that he would now work diligently for the welfare of the people.

Benjamin Yepthomi, President of BJP Nagaland, warmly welcomed the RPI (A) members from the 60 AC Pungro-Kiphire constituency to the party. He assured them of full support and assistance in all possible ways. Shri Yepthomi also emphasized that the BJP will always voice out for the concerns of the people of Kiphire.
The event marked a significant political development in the region as the RPI (A) members aligned with the BJP to further their shared goals.
